Letter from Brophy Principal, Mr. Bob RyanPlease note carefully all the information contained in this summer version of the e-News. This will be the last e-News until mid-August so this edition is full of information that relates to the first few weeks of school. In addition to the announcements and reminders contained in this email, please note the packet of information located on Brophy’s webpage to which we referred in the mailing that was sent home two weeks ago.
From Mr. Walsh, Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction: Textbook Information for the 2010-2011 School YearParents should take note that the way students will acquire textbooks for some classes will change from previous years, and they should acquaint themselves with the process now so as to avoid any confusion at the beginning of the year.
From Mr. Bopp, the Dean of Students: Important to Register for Parking Permits EarlyParking permits are awarded on a first come first serve basis and it is important that students get applications in to the Dean’s Office as early as possible to be assured of a sticker that will permit them to park on campus.
Final TranscriptsFinal transcripts for members of the Class of 2010 have been mailed to the college/university each student indicated he would be attending on the survey given to students in May.
Naviance College ListsStudents in the Class of 2011 need to be adding colleges to their Naviance account. This can be done simply by the student logging into Naviance, clicking the "Colleges" tab, and then selecting the "Colleges I'm Thinking About" link.
Registering for ACT or SATIt is easy to register for the ACT or SAT online simply by visiting the test websites:
www.act.org for the ACT and
www.collegeboard.com for the SAT. The college counselors HIGHLY recommend that students do not wait until the registration deadline to register because testing locations fill up quickly.
Transcript RequestsStudents who need to send transcripts to the NCAA eligibility center or other organizations may do so through Naviance through July 2. By logging into Naviance and selecting the "Colleges" tab, students will then see the "Transcript" link which they should click on.
The Common ApplicationClass of 2011 students should register with the Common Application on August 1, 2010.
College Planning QuestionnaireEach student in the Class of 2011 needs to complete the College Planning Questionnaire and email it to his college counselor by the first day of school.

News from the Argentina Immersion & Exchange Program 2010For the second year, Brophy Prep and Colegio Inmacalada of Santa Fe, Argentina participated in a language and cultural exchange. Ten Brophy students lived and studied with their Argentina host brothers at a Jesuit high school for the month of June after hosting Inmaculada students in Phoenix in February
