The Brophy track and field team finished 10th at the AIA Open State Championships with 20.5 points at Mesa Community College. Senior Jack Sebald was third in the 110m hurdles (14.34) and fifth in the 300m hurdles (38.91).
Juniors William DeSpong and Nero Nuez finished sixth (14.45) and ninth (15.08) in the 110m hurdles, respectively.
Senior Luca Cannizzo was fifth in the 400 meters (48.50), while sophomore Rylan Umphrey placed seventh in the long jump with a personal-best 22-7.25 as the top sophomore in the field,
Junior Darius Alberty finished tied for eighth in the javelin with a best throw of 172-10. Senior Ryan deKoning was 14th in the prelims of the 200m in 22.33. The 4x100m relay was eighth (41.95), the 4x400m relay was 19th in the prelims, and the 4x800m relay crossed 11th overall (8:07.38).
