From the President

Welcome to Brophy College Preparatory…  As the only Jesuit high school in Arizona, we offer young men a unique opportunity to grow intellectually and spiritually, and to orient themselves toward a life of leadership and service as Men for Others.

The Society of Jesus was established in 1534 by Ignatius of Loyola as a means of leading people to a deep encounter with God and in so doing, building the kingdom of God here on earth. The Jesuits quickly found a calling in education, recognizing that an exemplary education is the most powerful and effective means of improving lives, forming leaders and instilling the importance of serving others. Five centuries later, with over 2,700 Jesuit schools and educational projects worldwide, that concept is still the bedrock of the Society of Jesus.

As president, my primary responsibilities are to safeguard our Jesuit mission and ensure that we have the resources to faithfully and robustly animate this mission as we have since 1928. I also want to make sure that every young man who comes to us has the opportunity to cultivate his God-given gifts — whether they lean toward math, science, art, music, spiritual life, sports or any number of things. A Jesuit education leads a student toward becoming the Graduate at Graduation — intellectually competent, open to growth, religious, loving and committed to doing justice.

Please take some time to explore our website and don’t hesitate to arrange a visit to campus should you want to learn more. We look forward to meeting you and answering your questions about what it means to be a Jesuit-educated man for others.

Peace,
Bob Ryan
President
For Mr. Ryan's vision for Jesuit education, visit The Way Forward to read his reflections from Aug. 18, 2023, when he was missioned by Provincial Sean Carroll, S.J., as Brophy College Preparatory's 12th president.

Additionally, in the 2024 President's Report, Mr. Ryan introduced four strategic priorities that will serve as a framework as we prepare for the school's next 100 years.
