Swimming Wins Brophy/Xavier Invitational, Joswiak Breaks Pool Record

The Brophy swimming and diving team won the 35th Annual Brophy/Xavier Invitational with 368 points behind two event winners, three top-three relay performances, and nine top-five placers. Junior Ashton Joswiak broke the Reese Aquatic Center pool record in winning the 500 free in 4:35.25, and junior Mark Heffern touching first in the 200 individual medley in 1:47.47 were among the top performances.

Joswiak’s mark broke the record set in 2014 by Brophy’s Matt Ottman (4:35.33), one of the longest-standing marks set 10 years ago.

Patrick Dunn was third in the 200 free (1:44.51) and 500 free (4;39.58), while Markus Crawford was fourth in the 200 individual medley behind Heffern in 2:01.79.
