Track and Field Wins Devon Allen Invitational

Brophy track and field won the team title, won three events, and posted 21 top-10 performances at the 2025 Devon Allen Invitational, which took place on Friday at the Graham Family Sports Campus. Brophy alum Devon Allen presented medals to the event winners and Nike backpacks to the featured event winners.

Brophy dominated in the hurdles, with senior Will DeDpong winning the Devon Allen Champion High Hurdles Award, taking the 110m hurdles in 14.44. The Broncos swept the event with Nero Nuez in second place in 14.82 and Darius Alberty in third. Alberty edged DeSpong in the 300m hurdles to win the Robert Grant Champion. Brendon Luke was third. 

Junior Tanner Bice won the high jump with a personal best of 6-1, finishing seventh in the long jump (20-11) and ninth in the triple jump (40-5.5). Bremer Kaprosy was third. Senior James Chester was third in the pole vault with a best of 12-0. Junior Rylan Umphrey was third in the long jump at 22-0. Junior Andrew Montz was fifth in the discus

Two stadium marks were set by Desert Edge 4x100m in 41.39, and Zalaya Dupre of Copper Canyon set a record in the triple jump with a jump of 40-1. Boston Walseth of Basha broke the meet record at 4:15.40 in the 1600m, and Dash Watson of Queen Creek tied the meet pole vault record at 16-0.
