Alum Ryan Ricci ‘12 Named the Head Brophy Varsity Hockey Coach 

Brophy alum Ryan Ricci ‘12 will take over the Head Coach duties this fall for the Brophy varsity hockey program, Athletic Director Josh Garcia announced. He replaces Don Maloney, who led the varsity program during the 2023-24 school season. Shelby Stringer and program director John Allen will assist him.
 
Ricci was an assistant varsity captain for the Broncos from 2011-12, helping the team to a State Championship and a third-place finish at Nationals. He played two seasons with the Northern Arizona University Ice Jacks team from 2013-14. 
 
This will be his ninth season with the Brophy staff, including three years as a Varsity Assistant, two years as a Junior Varsity Assistant, and three years as Junior Varsity Head Coach JV. He led the JV team to the state championship in 2021-2022.
 
He has a USA Hockey Coaching Level 4 certification.
