Vanden Bosch Named Arizona Cardinals Player of the Week and Ed Doherty Medallion Winner

Junior linebacker Bastian Vanden Bosch was named the Arizona Cardinals Player of the Week, the first Bronco to earn the award since E.J. Warner in 2021. Vanden Bosch had five tackles with 3.5 for loss (3.0 sacks) with two hurries and a fumble recovery in a shutout win over Regis Jesuit (Colo.) last week. He participated in a ceremony with Arizona Cardinals executives, former Cardinal Kyle Vanden Bosch, who is also his dad, and Cardinals cheerleaders at the school.

He also received the Week 4 Ed Doherty Award Nomination Medallion, recognizing outstanding performances from Week 3 action by the Arizona Sports & Entertainment Commission (ASEC) and its managed entity, the Grand Canyon State Gridiron Club (GCSGC).

He will be presented a medallion this week and is now in the running for the 2024 Ed Doherty Award, which annually recognizes Arizona’s most outstanding high school football player. This year’s recipient will be announced at a special luncheon on Saturday, December 14.
