Brophy Posts Win at Centennial 28-14

The Brophy football team (3-0) defeated Centennial 28-14 behind two Case Vanden Bosch second-half touchdowns, beating the Coyotes on the road for the first time in school history. The Bronco defense shut out Centennial to secure the victory.

Tied at 14 at the half, Case Vanden Bosch took over at quarterback in the second half and burst out for a 67-yard touchdown on his second play to put Brophy up 21-14. He added a second score to cap another third quarter drive for the 28-14 advantage. He finished 77 yards on nine carries.

Centennial (0-3) took the early lead 7-0 but Brophy answered when junior Rylan Umphrey hit senior Nathan Benzie on a 20-yard score. Senior running back Carlos Estrada put Brophy ahead with a four-yard score in the second quarter. He finished with 81 yards on 12 carries. 

Brophy had three fumble recoveries, including two by Colin Aramian and the game-ending recovery by James Pike. Aramian had a team-best nine tackles and Dominic Woods had eight tackles, including two quarterback sacks. 

Brophy travels to Perry on Friday at 7 p.m. for a matchup against their former Premier Region rival.
