Football Moves to 4-0 with 24-20 Win at Perry

The Brophy football team posted a 24-20 victory over Perry. The Broncos overcame halftime and fourth-quarter deficits to prevail in the matchup with their former Premier Region rival. 

Quarterback Case Vanden Bosch had 18 carries for 104 yards, highlighted by the winning touchdown in the final quarter. He added a 6-for-8 performance in the air with a touchdown to Daylen Sharper, who finished with four catches for 79 yards.

Brophy led 7-0 after the Sharper touchdown, and it took a 7-3 lead into the second quarter after a 49-yard Perry field goal. The Pumas added a touchdown and field goal to lead 13-7. Ryder Hampton’s 23-yard field goal cut the halftime deficit to 13-10.

Harrison Chambers completed a third-quarter drive with a five-yard run for a 17-13 lead. He finished with nine carries for 30 yards, while Carlos Estrada had 14 carries for 73 yards.

But Perry responded with a big play touchdown on a 35-yard run to take the lead back at 20-17. Case Vanden Bosch’s run with 7:26 was the final scoring as the Bronco defense held Perry off the board for the rest of the game. 

Dominic Woods had a team-best nine tackles and a forced fumble, while Colin Aramian had seven.
