Swimming & Diving Wins Craig Cummins Invitational

The Brophy swimming and diving team scored 526 points to win the Craig Cummins Invitational on Saturday. Red Mountain was second with 273 points. It was the team's second invitational win this season, as the Broncos remained undefeated.

The Broncos won two relays - 200y and 400y freestyle - and placed second in the 200y medley relay, and junior Ashton Joswiak touched first in the 200y individual medley at 2:01.08. It was his second individual invitational event win this season after winning the 500y free at the Brophy/Xavier Invitational. Sophomore Finn Conley was second in the 200y freestyle (1:45.03), while Brophy had seven third-place finishes, including junior Asher Gomez (200y free, 1:46.78), junior Grady Garbarino (200y IM, 2:05.87), senior Frank Sunderhaus (500y free, 22.89), junior James Wood (100y butterfly, 55.11), sophomore Patrick Dunn (100y free, 50.41), junior Mitchell Bailey (500y free, 4:55.71), and junior Thomas McCauley (100y back, 58.05).

On Friday, diver Jonah Geist finished second and recorded his second state qualifying performance at the Craig Cummins Invitational.
