Jackson Sweetman and Adam Angulo Named MVPs at Wrestling Banquet


The wrestling program held its annual banquet on Thursday. Senior Jackson Sweetman and junior Adam Angulo were named the Varsity Most Valuable Wrestlers.

Sweetman was the runner-up at 215 pounds at the 2025 AIA State Championships, while Angulo was third at 150, and Jurek took sixth at 190.

Cole Hancock was the Junior Varsity Most Valuable Wrestler and Johnny Nash received the award for the freshman team.

Other award winners were sophomore Landon Jurek for the Iron Bronco on varsity. 
James Humphrey was the junior varsity winner, and Tommy Casey was the freshman honoree as the Iron Bronco.

Head Coach Wayne Catan introduced a new award named for senior Jacob Mathew. The award is presented to the Brophy wrestler who has demonstrated unwavering integrity, standing by his principles despite adversity. Mathew and teammate Axel Lauer were honored.
