Angulo Wins Central Arizona Classic Title, Four Advance to Finals

The Broncos advanced four wrestlers advance into the finals at the Central Arizona Classic on Saturday including Micah Blackburn, Adam Angulo, Copper Carey and Blake Sweetman. 
 
The team finished fourth overall with a 4-3 record, defeating American Leadership Academy (63-18), Bradshaw Mountain (36-33), Paradise Valley (66-12), and Westpoint (37-27). The Broncos lost to Campo Verde (41-31) and Arizona College Prep (42/40-21/29) twice. 
 
Sophomore Adam Angulo was the champion at 144 at the Central Arizona Classic at Poston Butte HS, defeating Josiah Bohn of Westpoint in the championship in a tiebreaker 4-3. He went 10-0 for the tournament and 26-2 on the season. He is the returning sectional champion.
 
Blackburn lost in the 138 final to Carty Behmer of Cactus Shadows (Dec. 5-3), while Sweetman fell to Cayden Gibson of Arizona College Prep 7-1. Cooper Carey lost a 6-4 decision to Michael Hunter of Higley at 157.
 
Senior Sean Kennedy was third in his division.
