Track and Field Wins NDP Our Lady of Victory Invitational

The Brophy Track and Field program won the NDP Our Lady of Victory Invitational, edging out Tucson Salpointe by just 2.5 points 207.5-205.

Brophy won the last race on the track with a strong finish in the 4x400 relay with Teagan Martinez, Connor Brown, Kellen Burrage, and Will Swiergol. Then, in the last late evening field event, our top two long jumpers placed 2nd (Marco Smith, 22'2.5") and 3rd (Ryder Noche, 22'0.5") to earn the team points needed to win the meet. Brophy scored in all 17 events in the invitational.

Event winners included Ryan de Koning in the 100 meters in 11.18 and 200 meters in 22.44; Jack Sebald in the 110m hurdles (14.98); Darius Alberty in the 300m hurdles (40.05) and javelin (181-3); James Chester in the pole vault (11-2) all three relays: 4x100m, 4x400m, and 4x800m. Max Columbus was fourth (135-5) at the Southwest Javelin Showcase on Saturday, and Hudson Kobes was sixth (126-70).

During the regular season, the Broncos also won the Aztec Invitational, Devon Allen Invitational, and Fr. Dutch Olivier Friendship Invitational team titles.
