Track & Field Places Fifth at Division I Meet

The Brophy track and field program secured fifth place overall with 48 points at the AIA Division I State Championships hosted at Red Mountain High School.
The Broncos were led by Jack Sebald's second-place finish in the 110m hurdles in a personal-best 13.99 and Luca Cannizzo's third-place finish in the 400 meters in 48.61. Sebald was also seventh in the 300m hurdles. Ryan deKoning crossed the finish line fifth in the 200 meters in 22.10, while the Brophy relays finished third in the 4x100, fourth in the 4x400, and fifth in the 4x800 relays.
Rylan Umphrey placed seventh in the long jump with a best of 22-04, and Logan Powell threw a best of 45-4 in the shot put. 
Darius Alberty was fourth overall in the javelin on Thursday. 
The Broncos qualified 10 Athletes in 12 individual events and all three relays for this weekend’s AIA Open Championships.
