10 Broncos Named to Arizona Lacrosse League All-State Teams

The 2024 Brophy lacrosse team placed 10 Broncos on the Arizona Lacrosse League All-State teams. The honors were originally announced at halftime of the state championship game, which Brophy won 14-2 over Pinnacle.

The A.L.L. first-team selections included attack Josh Buse, who tied for the team lead with 63 goals and 15 assists, and midfielder Erik Volfson, who also had 63 goals and a team-best 38 assists. He was named the A.L.L. Championship Game Offensive Player of the Game. 

Seniors Charlie McGinnis and Connor Rassas were first-team defenders. A Hostra commit, McGinnis had 83 ground balls, and 43 caused turnovers. Rassas recorded 76 ground balls and caused 38 turnovers. 

Long stick middle Noah Burdick was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year and earned first-team honors. He tallied 88 ground balls, 38 caused turnovers, nine goals and 11 assists. He will play at Hofstra.

SSDM Harrison Yu joined Burdick on the first team after recording 49 ground balls, and 20 caused turnovers, adding 14 goals and 17 assists. 

FOGO specialist Deion James recorded 358 faceoff wins with an amazing 75.7 win percentage. He added 17 ground balls with 13 goals and five assists. 

Attack Laird Miller, midfielder Eli Friedman, and defender Taub Baldyga were chosen for the second team. A Rollins College recruit, Miller scored 52 goals and recorded 27 assists. Friedman had 33 goals and six assists, while Baldyga notched 21 ground balls and 48 caused turnovers.
