Woods to Join National High School Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame

Longtime Brophy tennis coach Bill Woods has been selected for induction to the National High School Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Brophy will host a ceremony at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Great Hall on campus.

NHSTCA administrators will officially recognize Woods at the ceremony. All current and former Brophy tennis players are welcome to attend.

Woods served as the Brophy Head Coach from 1994-2014, compiling a 484-48 record while winning 13 team championships and three runner-up finishes. The Brocnos won eight consecutive 5A titles from 1996-2003, the second-longest streak in state history (Catalina Foothills, 9).

Woods mentored eight singles and doubles champions and five state champion runner-ups. He has been at Brophy for 35 years, including serving as athletic director from 2015 to 2000.
