Football’s Noah Hubbard Commits to Claremont-McKenna College

Senior defensive lineman Noah Hubbard has committed to playing for and attending Claremont-McKenna College, an NCAA Division III school in Claremont, Calif. The Stags play in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

“Claremont McKenna perfectly combines athletics and academics, with which Brophy has empathized. Balancing athletics and sports is a big skill set and requires time management to set your time. I will get to play football at a high level and get one of the best educations in the world. I am incredibly blessed.”

Hubbard will play for Kyle Sweeney, who has been the head coach of the CMS football program since 2011, and since then, he has brought the program to new heights, including SCIAC titles in 2018 and 2022 and matching the winningest season in the program’s history with an 8-2 mark in 2023.

“I met the head coach and some of the players in the program on my visit,” said Hubbard. ”There is a great atmosphere and balance between practice and school. My future position coach, David Ayogi, is a high-energy guy who will help me learn in the film room. Learning from my mistakes is the best way for me to improve.”

Hubbard has 24 tackles with 15 solos on the season, ranking 11th on the team. He has three games with four or more tackles, including two with a single-game best five tackles against Mountain Pointe and Salpointe. He also has 2.0 tackles for loss.

“They say your character is defined by what you do when no one is looking,” said Head Coach Jason Jewell. “I doubt Noah knew we were looking, but we were. We saw him setting up drills in the morning. We saw him dragging out the equipment cart and water cow. We saw him cleaning up after practice and lifts. And the thing is, no one ever asked him to do it, ever! Noah is a great teammate, a silent leader, a tremendous student, and one of the best kids I have ever been around. I am very proud of Noah and his signing with Claremont-McKenna today.”

Hubbard was recognized by selection to the AIA 6A Conference All-Central Region honorable mention team.

“The past two years with the varsity team have been truly amazing. The connections and brotherhood are unique,” recalled Hubbard. “The goal to play in college developed over time. I originally just played to have fun. As I played more, I realized I loved it and wanted to keep playing for four more years.”
